London-Boutiques: Can you tell us a bit about the area your boutique is in?
Carly: Esher is an affluent area with a great community feel. We’re very fortunate to be situated in a gorgeous part of Surrey, not far from London. There are plenty of lovely places to enjoy long lunches and a handful of unique shops to browse in. I’m very much looking forward to the arrival of Daylesford Organic café this year – the perfect new hotspot for healthy lunches.
Where do you go to source the latest / undiscovered designers?
Buying trips throughout Europe and exploring trade shows play a major part when sourcing new exciting labels. It’s great that our fashionable clientele share with us their favourite hunting grounds for incredible finds.
What’s your favourite thing about the boutique?
It’s super that the relationship between staff and clients is so strong and I’m always complimented on the boutique’s brilliant energy. Plus, buying pieces for the store, which I truly love, is a real highlight.
If you didn’t own a boutique what would you be doing instead?
My latest love is Pilates – I just can’t get enough of it right now – so I would be a Pilates instructor.
Who is your London fashion icon and why?
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley – without a doubt! She can do no wrong in my eyes. I love the way she dresses and how elegantly she carries herself. Of course it helps that she’s beautiful too.
What's your favourite day of the week and why?
During the week everything is quite manic, so I would say Sunday. It’s the day that I’m with my family and we get to chill out and really relax.
What’s in your handbag?
I always carry a scarf in my bag to brighten up what I’m wearing, a Louise Redknapp lipgloss (I love the brand – it’s so natural) and of course my phone – I can’t be without it!
When you have some spare time how do you treat yourself?
If I’m not working or doing the school run, you’re guaranteed to find me in the Pilates studio – it’s my therapy. I just can’t miss it from my daily routine: it gives me an amazing feel good factor!
